Harrogate Holiday Camps

Although we like to encourage everyone to take part in outdoor activities, it is important to say that this environment is not always suitable for everyone. We are not SEN specialists, and usually work on a 1:8 ratio.

Due to the nature of some of the activities that we do and the environment we’re in, it’s essential that everyone can follow instructions, and stick with the group at all times, even if getting frustrated with the activity or the other kids.

It is helpful to make us aware of any triggers upon booking and on the disclaimer, however we can’t guarantee that we can always avoid them - there are sometimes up to 40 kids and they will be given free time to let off steam and make up games etc.

We endeavour to be as inclusive as we possibly can without the extra support of SEN staff available, and do want every child to be able to access our days as much as possible. We are always open for any questions and talks over how we can accommodate within the above reasoning so please feel free to drop us an email or give us a ring to discuss further.

Every year we are improving our camps and by making them 3 full days (Instead of singles) it means that we can ensure the right activities are done at the best time. This means that we can go on the lake when the sun is shining making it the best experience all round.

During the 3 days we will cover, High Ropes, Raft Building, Survival Skills, Body Zorbing, Canoeing, Defuse The Bomb Challenge, Navigation, Archery and so much more.

Unfortunately we do not accept these at the moment.

Running an outdoor activity in good old England means there is always a good chance of rain. We can run all our activities in these conditions and ask you to bring your children ready for the day ahead. If the weather does get too bad we can bring them to a sheltered area and change the itinerary around if need be. Don't worry, they will still have 100% fun.

All our staff are permanent members of the Live For Today Team. Each instructor is experienced and trained in every activity they deliver. Our goal is to deliver fun and exciting activities in a safe and controlled environment.

Yes, all our activities take place in the outdoors and do carry a level of risk with them, however they are in good hands and will never be left alone without an experienced instructor on hand to help them.

We will provide you with a full list upon booking however the essentials are:

• Spare clothes
• Packed Lunch, Snacks, Drink
• Spare Trainers
• Towel
• Water Bottle
• Suncream
• Waterproofs

Yes, each child must be signed for on arrival and signed out on departure. We will not allow a child to leave the site without this consent. If somebody else is picking the child up we ask you to let us know and ensure they bring photo identification along with them on the day.

All our activities take place onsite at Ripley Castle, Harrogate, HG3 3AY.

We ask each parent to complete a health and safety disclaimer prior to booking, this means if we need to contact you then we can do so immediately. If you need to contact your child then this can be done by simply contacting our office on 01423 229780 where our office team will get them directly.

Please note we do run a strict behaviour policy which will be provided to you upon booking also. This will be used to contact you in the very unlikely situation of misbehaviour.
