Ripon To Boroughbridge Canoe Trip

This is a ‘must-do’ Canoe trip if you're visiting North Yorkshire for your holiday or you live nearby and have always wanted to explore the area from a different angle.

The full River Ure runs from Wensleydale in the Yorkshire Dales, 74 miles until it joins the River Ouse, it then continues a further 52 miles until it reaches the Humber Estuary and out into the North Sea. For our Adventure Canoe Trip we will take you on the river section running between the City of Ripon through to Boroughbridge. Our full Canoe journey is 7 miles long and will roughly take 5-6 hours.

Starting your day in Boroughbridge, you will leave your vehicle and be transported by taxi/minibus to the start of our journey in Ripon. In Ripon we will prepare the Canoes for teams of twos and threes and your instructor will go through the safety briefing, its then time to get on the water and begin our downstream adventure!

Along the way, we will Canoe through a whole variety of landscapes, including the spectacular Newby Hall, we will also hopefully catch sights of the wildlife, including Kingfishers and Otters. Around half way, we will hitch up our Canoes, stretch our legs and have a well-earned lunch. Post lunch the river widens and meanders all the way back to Boroughbridge and your personal transport home.
