When people think of Caving, they often think it’s all about squeezing through tight muddy spaces in the dark. In reality, yes it’s going to be dark and I’m sure we can find some mud, however around 90% of your trip will be in passages large enough to walk through. And those wanting the occasional tight challenge can have a go at some of the crawls and squeezes these Yorkshire Dales Caves have to offer
Your Caving session will begin with; getting kitted out in the appropriate safety equipment, (see below kit list), a brief from your profesional instructor on the surface, then its lights on and in you go!

This includes your under suit and over suit, wellington boots, helmet, lamp, and your belt/harness. Of course, if you want to bring your own wellingtons for comfort, please feel free. Also bring suitable base layers and thick socks for your experience, as well as towels and a change of clothes for afterwards.
All of our equipment and clothing is inspected and maintained on a regular basis for your peace of mind and for your comfort during your caving experience. If at any point you feel uncomfortable or unsafe in any way, our instructors will be on hand to support you however you need. An alternative route will always be available.
